If you don’t want to use the containers, that’s OK. I’m giving you the measurements of each container. You’ll need measuring cups, if that’s the case. The measurements of each container are listed below.
GREEN = 1 cup
PURPLE = 1 cup
RED = ¾ cup
YELLOW = ½ cup
BLUE = ¼ cup
ORANGE = 2 tablespoons
tsp = teaspoon
As we dive into the program, I will speak about your containers and what goes in them based on their colors. We will take a look at how many containers you get based on the calorie bracket you fall into and the food lists for each container, so you know exactly how to use them to practice portion control. Don’t be fooled by these containers. They look small, but once you start filling them and putting the food on your plate, you will quickly see just how much you get to eat in a day.
When you are eating nutrient-dense food, you get to eat more of it. Like I said, you won’t starve following this way of eating (Zero deprivation). Before we move on to principle #2, look back at what you ate yesterday. How were your portions? Did you eat a meal that was super-sized or oversized? How did that meal make you feel?
